In Union Budget 2026, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a major boost for India's creative industries with the proposal to set up AVGC Content Creator Labs in 15,000 secondary schools and 500 colleges across the country. The initiative, to be supported through the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies, Mumbai, aims to address the projected demand for 2 million professionals in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) sector by 2030.
